10-23-08 – The Day the TIP Almost Died

firetruck-crash

Driving home from a gig in October, the TIP van nearly ran head first into a speeding fire truck on 14th St. Luckily the JTT van, which normally handles about as well as a freight liner, somehow managed to tighten up and avoid the fire engine during an evasive panic swerve. The aforementioned swerve may have caused the deaths of multiple pedestrians but I never looked back to confirm. Besides, Union Square is overrun with tourists so I’ll chalk that up to public service.

The collision would have certainly been the inglorious end of all five band members and one south-of-the-border born girlfriend. Think Lynyrd Skynyrd but without the horrific enduring legacy of “Free Bird”.
