10-23-08 – The Day the TIP Almost Died

December 1, 2008 by

Driving home from a gig in October, the TIP van nearly ran head first into a speeding fire truck on 14th St. Luckily the JTT van, which normally handles about as well as a freight liner, somehow managed to tighten up and avoid the fire engine during an evasive panic swerve. The aforementioned swerve may have caused the deaths of multiple pedestrians but I never looked back to confirm. Besides, Union Square is overrun with tourists so I’ll chalk that up to public service.

The collision would have certainly been the inglorious end of all five band members and one south-of-the-border born girlfriend. Think Lynyrd Skynyrd but without the horrific enduring legacy of “Free Bird”.

Someone Please Hire Mad Dog!!

December 1, 2008 by

At the time of this posting, former TIP drummer Mad Dog remains painfully unemployed and addicted to day-time television. I implore anyone in the food-service or house-keeping industries to throw a bone to MD. I have no idea what his work ethic is like, but I do know that he will sweat for you, literally sweat, for the entire work day. And then probably all the way home and well into the evening.

Eric Was Born 15 Years Too Late

December 1, 2008 by

He’ll never admit it, but deep down I know Eric wishes he was born around 1970 so he could have hit the 80’s with a full head of steam. And by steam I mean coke (hey, it was a different time). If you think I’m kidding check out this side-by-side comparison to 80’s crooner Rick Astley:

my case = rested.
